School District #71 (Comox Valley) is a relatively small School District, with about 8,000 students from K-12, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. We have a growing reputation for undertaking innovative challenges and the use of some of the human and electronic resources needed to meet the challenges we set ourselves. The ENTER program is an exciting new example of what we can do.
Robots and robotics are here to stay. They area gateway technology because of all of the fields that they can lead students to explore. We believe that we can help students, with either an interest in robots or those wanting to explore possible careers in robotics and related areas, through the development of a sophisticated set of human and electronic resources. We have a number of very accomplished robotics and electronics teachers and volunteers in the Valley. We also have more than a decade's worth of experience in different levels of robotics and electronics competitions and our students have won a number of provincial and national titles.
The robotics community is constantly expanding. People in more than 92 countries have visited these pages since we first starting tracking visits (in early March 2009). We know that the users of our Robotics Pages, Career Pages and the eLibrary come from across Canada and around the world. We are glad you came to visit us, eh!
People involved in Robotics are an interesting mix of people. They tend, whenever possible, to share and not just compete or take. This makes Robotics a positive place to be. So... consider this an invitation to come and visit and to help us build a resource that benefits both our students and our community AND your students and your community. We would welcome any comments, suggestions, or recommendations.
